Campbell and Bowen

Newlyweds William Roscoe Campbell and Faybelle Bowen. They were married on 10 February 1918 in Denton, Texas. William was inducted into the US Army only 5 months after they were married in July of 1918. In November of that same year, he was overseas in France. He served in the 304 MTC repair unit, or the Motor Transport Corps. The MTC was formed out of the United States Army on 15 August 1918. The Army needed skilled tradesmen working for automotive manufacturers in the US to help procure and maintain new military vehicles on the battle front. William was one of those men. He served overseas for seven months. He was discharged on 26 July 1919.
