1930’s Chevrolet Coupe

Imer Lorene Guthrie standing beside a late 1920s or early 1930s Chevrolet Coupe. This is a fun picture. Lorene (not yet 20 years old) is wearing men’s clothing with her hair slicked back. She is probably wearing her brother Chester’s clothes.

Lorene was born in Dell, Arkansas on 6 February 1911. She was the 4th child of John Thomas Guthrie and Martha Matilda Morgan. Five years later in 1916, Lorene’s younger sister Martha was born in Los Angeles California. By 1920, the family had moved back east across the southern California - Arizona border to Yuma.
